Many describe it as a place for brave people because of its weather and landscapes. San Luis of Pelequén, which in mapudugun language means “place where neighborhoods are formed”, is located in the cord of Rigomeu, between the Mountain range of The Andes and The Coast in Chile.
Lots of slab stone quarries with golden lines, cactus, peacocks, owls, foxes, sheep shepherds and horses give life to the landscapes of a simple and hard working life of the Chilean huaso.
Dry hot summers and wet cold winters are part of a “frozen in time” style that the Ranch San Luis has kept for years to continue with the natural flow of its land.
In the 90’s, a personage of the Doñihue town known as Mr. Don Hugo Silva Martínez acquires the 600-hectare San Luis fund in order to give it a recreational use for himself and his family, but always keeping the place in its more natural and pure status.

Nowadays the Ranch has more than 90 horses that walk freely for the pastures. Also, we can discover them in their most natural way while we take a walk all over the ranch.
Thistles, grapes, peumo scent, lots of quillay and boldos trees, the cold breeze that crosses the remain of the eucalyptus, the free goats of the hill, the “tic tic tic” sound of woodpeckers, and some spiders invite us to connect with the earth, ourselves and God.
